🎵 Volunteer with COPW
Making a Difference Together
Volunteerism is central to our mission of supporting the Los Angeles Philharmonic. With opportunities suited to varied interests and schedules. COPW members participate in a variety of rewarding opportunities throughout the year. These activities are a wonderful way to connect with fellow members, support the arts, and make a difference. Keep an eye out for volunteer opportunities announced through LA Phil affiliate emails. For more information on volunteering, please contact Mary Helen Ewan, mhewan@gmail.com.
Volunteering at Educational Events
Symphonies for Schools — As part of the LA Phil’s educational outreach, six concerts are offered free of charge to students in grades 3–12. These programs introduce classical music to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity. It’s a wonderful way to spend a weekday morning at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and one of the meaningful ways COPW gives back to the community.
LA Soundscapes at The Ford— Features artmaking, dancing, and listening with Los Angeles artists at The Ford. These daytime family events explore the many artistic cultures and traditions that make LA vibrant. Volunteers are needed to assist with a pre-concert activity and participatory art making for ages 3-11.
Other volunteer opportunities, such as the Grand Ave Arts: All Access Festival, are also available.
Symphonies for Youth—Symphonies for Youth — Six concerts designed especially for children ages 5–11 are presented on Saturday mornings throughout the LA Phil season. A COPW favorite, these events need volunteers. to help with pre-concert activities at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

COPW thrives thanks to the energy and talents of our members. Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet new friends, contribute your skills, and help make our programs and events possible.
One of the best ways to participate is by joining the COPW Board of Directors. The Board includes 15-20 members who meet six times a year, either virtually on Zoom or in person over lunch.
Board members may volunteer for any of the following standing committees or board positions:
Activities
Auditor
Bylaws / Parliamentarian
Friends of the Phil
Group Home Tickets
Membership
News Notes (newsletter)

If you’d like to get more involved, we welcome your participation and will help you find the role that best matches your interests.

The Pasadena Showcase House is one of the oldest and largest annual house and garden tours in the country, supporting music and arts programs — including the LA Phil. COPW members have the opportunity to volunteer as house and garden docents, and when we do, a portion of the proceeds goes to the LA Phil on our behalf.
Please note that this is a separate nonprofit event and not an official LA Phil–presented volunteer opportunity.
